General Rules:
• This site follows Proboards ToS, meaning you must be at least thirteen years old to join.
• Being Proboards, this also means that the site is rated PG-13. There is no excessive violence or gore or suggestive content.
• Swear words are allowed but are kept to a minimum.
• Respect other members and staff, and you will be respected.
• Disrespect will not be tolerated, neither will grouping up on others, or little cliques. We want to keep this site friendly, not drama-ridden like high school.
• Do not fight in the c-box or in threads ooc-ly. If staff sees this happening, they will lock the thread and send you a warning PM.
• All art must be given proper credit to the artist and stock providers. Do not use artwork unless you made it yourself or you were given explicit permission by the artist to use it on Nevermourne. Theft will not be tolerated here and if it is found that you're using stolen or miscredited artwork, you will be dealt with accordingly.
• The max width for the board image wise is about 600 px. Please keep your images this or smaller, as to not stretch the boards.
• Icons can be 150px x 300px maximum.
Character Creation:
• Your character can look any way you want it too. There is no real restriction on them, save for height or something too extreme. Don't have a bunch of super tall horses running around. We also don't want half horse, half snake or fish things running around either.
• There is no magic on this site for characters. The closest you'll get to 'magic' is with the Shamans, and they're terrifying and not so nice half the time.
• You do not have to wait to be accepted in order to RP. If something is wrong with a character, staff will let you know.
• You can have multiple characters on one account, there's no real limit.
• Alliances do not mean your character has to act stereotypically. There can be nice darks or rude lights. There's no limit to it.
Claiming Rules:
• Claiming takes place in the Claiming Grounds (of course). It's not mandatory, so don't feel pressured to post.
• Here, your character will be approached by members of the alliances and offered a place within their ranks. You may choose whether or not to go with the characters that approach you, however note that it is often easiest to join herds via claim due to the fact that different herds and groups will have different sets of rules that regulate joining.
• If your character would rather live in solitude, they can choose not to join any of the groups - however life in the wild can be risky.
• On average, mares and stallions can claim characters for their respective groups, however many of the claiming rules will be contingent on the leaders of each herd.
• Force claiming isn't advised, but is allowed.
Fighting/Stealing Rules:
• There are only four herds of each alliance as of right now, and the lands may be challenged for (though the lands will not change).
• All fights take place in the Battleground board and will be judged by staff.
• Stallions and mares can fight equally for any of the following: lands, positions, characters.
• Should a character be fought for, that character must go with the winner of the battle for at least two RL weeks. After this time limit is up, the character may fight for their freedom themselves or another character may try to claim them back via a battle.
• Winners of a successful battle for land or title get a grace period of one month before anyone else may challenge them again. This rule only applies to those who have won their land/title via a successfully completed battle (versus a forfeit or claim).
• Fights will consist of one post per person, up to two attacks and up to one dodge. Though herds can have their own challenge rules, if you cannot agree on the terms, you will follow this default rule.
• To challenge for a royal position, your character must be active in that alliance before attempting to do so, and must be of that alliance.
Breeding/Foaling Rules:
• Foaling is only allowed in certain seasons, and foals are only to be posted by statters.
• Foaling is not graphic. Follow the form provided and a statter will post your foal.
• Graphic breeding will not be played out on-site as this is a direct violation of Proboards ToS. If you feel you must play it out, take it to a private mode of communication.
• Foaling seasons are Fall and Spring, and each season lasts about three weeks.
• Mares may only breed once to a single stallion per season, but can breed up to two stallions per season.
• Stallions may breed up to five mares a season.
• In order to have a foal, you must have at least posted the characters in a thread four times each, and the thread must be recent.
Royal Rules:
• Royals must be active. This means they need to be posted at least twice a week, or you risk losing your position.
• Royals have the last say in matters of their alliance. If someone is to be banned, they're the ones to do it.
• Royal killings are only done when they visit the Gods, and their wish is either granted or denied.
• Royals can only punish those of their own alliance severely, not of another alliance. They may beat a character of another alliance, but cannot kill or ban them.
• Royals must come up with some sort of alliance event at least once every six months, to keep their alliance active. This can be a festival, or just a royal meet and greet around the lands.
• Royals can be challenged for their position, keep this in mind.
Herd Rules:
• All herds are free to create their own personal set of rules, though any extreme decisions will have to be brought before the royal of their alliance to be allowed.
• Stallions or mares can rule, and can choose any they wish to rule beside them, though it is normally their mate.
• Each herd can have only two prisoners.
• Each herd is required to keep a log of all members, prisoners, and past challenges/steals. This helps everyone on the site with knowledge of who can be stolen, when a land can be challenged for, when a stolen character can challenge for his/her freedom, etc.
• Land names/descriptions can not be changed, unless all members of staff approve such a decision.
• Herd lands can have threads that have descriptions in them if you wish to have a more inside look to them than what is already provided.
• Claiming a land must be done IC, with a post minimum of 350 words. An immortal will come by and you will thread it out, this gives you more of a reason to give bigger posts.
• Please wait to see if your claim has been accepted before making any further posts.
